Old Fortress Corfu
The Corfu Old Fortress is a stunning sight, worth visiting whilst on the island. Constructed in the 15th century during the Venetian rule, it's separated from mainland Corfu by a long, narrow trench, which is now used by fishermen to dock their fishing boats. A long 60 meter bridge links the old town of Corfu and the fortress together.
You can walk to the top of the fortress and enjoy the stunning views of the sea and the old town.
A small fee of 6 euros is required to enter and there is a restaurant/bar inside the fortress where you can enjoy a refreshment and some snacks whilst visiting.
No parking is offered so it's best to park elsewhere in town and walk to the fortress.
Parts of the fortress are suitable for wheelchairs but there isn't a way to get to the top in a wheelchair.
You can take guided tours as well if you want to get more background.
